Before PhotoIt all started when I decided to take my pot rack down. That's it. Just a simple pot rack I made that I didn't need anymore because I made pull out drawers for my under-cabinets.Looking through the bar hole thingie into the kitchen without the rack there made it look funky...Too yellow... I'd put pot-lights up in my living room, office, and garage so I figured this would be the next best place for em. So I put my tool belt on with all 900 tools and made my way into the attic to lay some wire. The first room I put lights in was installed during the spring which made the attic nearly unbearable. This time I put them up when it was near freezing outside. Couldn't have been more comfortable. I even pulled my led t12 shop light up there which made it bright as day.Cuttin some holesThe design is vanilla. 3 inch 4000k lights are installed in the middle of each cabinet for counter top lighting and 4 inch 5000k lights are installed around the walkway for the rest. One can came all bent up so I had to order a replacement. That comes tomorrow. After the Before PhotoI'm taking down the builder light because it's ugly. I just need my wife to decide what kind of lights she wants so I can install some braces and wire them up.The only thing that sucks about this whole thing is while I was in the attic I noticed a small area in the far corner that appears to have some rodent leftovers. We had sub freezing temperatures for a week here in Texas so I'm wondering if something just hung out here for a little or if I need to put out traps. Either way I've got some insulation I have to replace..bleh.Cost breakdown:3" potlights with LED bulbs: $514" potlight cans: $594" LED lights: $50 but these were from a previous project where I thought 5000k was too whiteRomex and other doodads: $40ishOne more z-wave dimmer: $35Total: $235ish via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2nngGDh
