I use fairly expense shampoo and conditioner because I have difficult hair and I think you more or less get what you pay for with regards to shampoo/conditioner. But the only thing shower gel needs to do is wash away the dirt on my skin and leave me clean, no need for anything more complicated than that, and no need for fragrances.
I'm pretty sure a bog standard bar of soap would suffice and be much cheaper. Has anyone switched from shower gel to soap? And can anyone confirm that soap is just as effective as gel, hygiene wise?
