Got a Best Buy $100 gift card from my friend as a birthday gift. I've been wanted to buy a nice bluetooth headphones ($150+) for a while, so it was a very nice gift from him.

So I went to Best Buy to shop around.

First, I tried Bose Soundlink II Headphone ($229). Very comfortable and it sounded great. With $100 gift card, I just have to pay $150 including tax. But wait, it doesn't have Active Noise Canceling and its battery life is ONLY 15 hours.

So I looked Senheiser PXC 550 ($299). Adaptive noise canceling, touch pad control, 30 hours of battery and Senheiser quality. The original price was $399 but it was $100 on sale, so it's like I was getting $200 saving with gift card. But they weren't somewhat very comfortable on my head and I could feel pressure on my jaw. Yes they are premium quality and many people find them very comfortable to wear but just didn't work out for me.

So I looked Sony WH1000Xm2 ($349). Again very high quality, amazing noise canceling and lots of features. Also they feel more comfortable on my head, my jaw feels better and around ears felt more comfortable. I could see myself wearing these for long time. Sony 1000X it is.

So I picked up the Sony headphone box, with $100 gift card I only had to pay.... wait $280?? I realized that the gift card almost made me to spend much more than my budget. Should I go back to original $150 budget, wait.. maybe I don't really need the bluetooth headphones at all! I decided to save the money and gift card altogether. So I just walked out from the Best Buy. Man walking away felt so good.

I am typing this wearing these cheap Samsung white earphone (you know what I am talking about :) the one came with the phone..) The music sounds still great and I just saved couple hundreds $$$. I am going to use $100 gift card when I really need something. I am proud of myself.
