This is a hypothetical proposition I have considered, but I wished to ask other people if it seemed like a good idea.
The costco executive membership has a 2% cashback reward, capped at $1,000 every 12 months. Since the membership cost is $120 a year, I'd need to spend $500 a month to break even. Sufficed to say, I do not currently spend $500 a month at costco.
However, there may be people I know who do not own costco memberships, and/or are otherwise unable to get to costco (it's about 50 mi round trip), but would buy costco products if they were able to.
I was wondering if it would be feasible, worth it, or otherwise might risk me getting banned from costco, if I were to offer to buy certain items at costco for these people when I go to get my own groceries, spending their money for their groceries but getting 2% back of whatever they spend.
Can you see any potential problems, fellow frugalers? Is this a good idea?
