Hello. I am refinishing my basement and put in 2x4 studs and 5/8" mold resistant drywall for the walls. Now I want to finish the ceiling and plan on installing resilient channels directly on the joists with one layer of 3/8" drywall (not mold resistant).I wanted to use 3/8" inch drywall because it is lighter, cheaper, and gives a tiny bit extra headroom with an already low ceiling. Is there any major advantage to using 5/8"? Do I need mold resistant drywall on the ceiling, or should I be fine without?Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2CLiigG
