My bag was stolen from my rental car on a work trip to Oahu. The bag contained my only remaining car key, plus my passport, glasses and everything else I need on a routine basis. The dealer wanted $450 for the key itself and programming. Plus whatever it would cost to have the car towed there. I'm guessing $550 minimum. I bought a fob online for $80 and paid a locksmith $150 to meet me at my car and program it. Then paid another $30 to have them cut a new emergency key. By my estimation, I saved almost $300. Avoid the stealership whenever you possibly can.
