We purchased a house with fiber cement siding (pretty sure it's certainteed). It is painted an ugly shade of green. It is a lap board siding with a smooth wood grain texture to it. We'd like to remove the paint and attempt a semi-transparent stain that will hopefully mimic the appearance of wood. Maybe a mahogany colored or cedar colored stain.I'd like to do the work myself. Not sure how to best remove the paint and prep the boards for stain. Use a stripper? Just power-wash and scrub? Anybody done this procedure (removing paint and then staining) and have feedback for me? Any advice is helpful, thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2mVIzmm
