The past, and all the events that occurred within it, exist no more, and remain only as ideas in our minds.

Why then, should we worry about the past?

The future does not yet exist, and perhaps may not exist at all; so any reference to the future is mere speculation.

Why then, should we worry about what has not yet come to pass?

The truth is, neither the past nor the future exist in the present moment. In the present there is only here, and now: what was, is no more; and what may be is not yet a reality.

So why should I worry or be anxious over the figments of my imagination? Or why should I worry about the figments of someone else's imagination?

I believe we could all lead a less stressful life if we focused more on being in the present moment, and freed ourselves from pointless anxiety over historical or speculative events.
