Looking at FedEx and UPS I'm struggling to understand the difference in valuation between the two.
- | FDX | UPS |
---|---|---|
Market Cap | 64.4B | 101.7B |
P/E (ttm) | 22.6 | 29.0 |
EV/EBITDA (ttm) | 9.2 | 14.8 |
P/S | 1.07 | 1.67 |
Operating Margin, % | 8.0 | 8.8 |
Debt/Equity | 0.91 | 12.5 |
UPS has a higher dividend yield but FDX looks cheaper, is growing faster, and has a cleaner balance sheet. I'm pretty ignorant of the shipping and logistics industry but as someone who sees his Amazon packages as the same no matter if they come from UPS or FedEx what is different between the two companies in terms of business models to justify a $37 billion in market cap?
