Was told my insurance was good to go at a eye doctor, years later it didnt go through and he sent the bill to collections

long story short, I was supposed to get a referral to see an eye doctor on an old insurance plan I had, this was a couple of years ago.

I asked him if it was okay and he said it was fine and they saw me, didnt think about it.

guess they tried to contact my doctor and found out they were supposed to get a referral first
