Everybody wants to play video games. The latest Xbox, PS, and Nintendo systems are hundreds of dollars. The games ain’t cheap either.
An effective alternative is a slow build of your own arcade system using a Raspberry Pi running classic arcade and old Sega and Super Nintendo games.
For under $100, you can get started with a Retropie setup with a couple USB gamepads. Over time, you can spend a little more and get some arcade joysticks and buttons from eBay, and build a console box or pedestal control.
After a while, build a cabinet to house it all if so desired. You don’t have to drop hundreds of dollars all up front. You spread that spending out over time, and end up with something much more personal.
