Hi! I was hoping I could find some good advice from this sub about investing in a Roth IRA vs a more traditional (non- ira) route. I don’t really invest yet, although I have watched the stock market for years. I just haven’t pulled the trigger but I need to get in, not to “get rich quick” but to start having my money work for me. I will probably start with a mutual fund or ETF for long term. I want to invest about 1K a month. I am just unsure about using a ROTH or not using that at all. I am afraid if I go the Roth direction I won’t have access to my money without fees etc. So if I started making money I want to have access to it, Not liquidate it, just use it if I need it. i just feel like it’s “trapped” in there? Am I crazy for thinking this way? Should I do 600 in Roth and 400 out of the Roth to diversify maybe? I’m 36. Married. “Own” two homes, one is a rental (so I guess you could say I am invested in real estate) both homes are doing very well equity wise. Still owe on both though. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
