This time of year r/teachers gets flooded with "what should I get my teacher?". The number one answer is a homemade card/letter from our students. We are really underappreciated/underpaid and personal letters from our kids really do make some of the tough days worth it. Most teachers have a wall or box where they keep them to reread them. We also appreciate small gifts like gift cards for coffee, Target or even a movie. If you want to make something make it edible or something that goes in a mason jar. I would look forward to a muddy buddy mix another teacher makes for the department each year. If you want to get something for our classroom this time of year is great for hand sanitizer and tissues. Steer clear of any generic gifts that you would probably regift yourself. Though the thought is appreciated it probably won't be worth the money in the long run. Thanks from a frugal teacher!!
