I am planning on opening an IRA account soon and upon much research it seems that Schwab is going to come out on top as the best option for me. While talking to a friend Schwab’s Intelligent Portfolios came up and the idea sounded interesting. Schwab’s website doesn’t allow for you to estimate your allocations or returns through this service before actually opening an account so I’m not sure what to expect. Does anyone have any experience with the Schwab Intelligent Portfolios that could lend more information? Mainly I am curious about how it compares to a simple 80/20 (or 60/40, etc.) stock to bond ETF allocation that is self managed.
