Hand mixers really are a light duty tool so they seem to come only in plasticy consumer versions. Plenty of commercial quality immersion blenders and stand mixers. But we use a hand mixer frequently for quick jobs and I'm tired of cracking plastic.
Search here reveals a lot of old mixers but I need something off the shelf. Bosch seems to make good quality but I can't really see to find for sale in the US.
