I'm new to this subreddit--my girlfriend (a Mr. Money Mustache follower and lover of this sub) has led me here for assistance.

My father has been investing for years and years for his kids. I didn't know much about my stocks until a few years ago, but just recently have been getting more involved and want to take over managing it fully this coming year as he is getting very old.

My portfolio apparently used to be very diverse, but one day a few years back my dad told me he wanted to take a risk with my stocks, and I told him to go for it. This risk (investing it all in Intel) has paid off significantly over the past few years, but I know that this growth is dangerous if Intel hits a slump. I need to diversify and learn what to do with this. Some of my friends are pushing me to invest in crypto, but I'm not sure about that move because it seems somewhat risky/fluid (although some of my friends are telling me that they are making bank in just a week on this). My girlfriend is pushing Roth IRA accounts, index funds, etc. and argues that slow and steady investments made over time are much wiser choices. My father fervently agrees with this point of view. I don't know much about any of this, though. I could really use any advise out there on all of this.

Also, I know tax stuff can be tricky when moving/buying stocks. I'd like to minimize taxes, obviously, when diversifying my portfolio. I am a student with no debt, living with my girlfriend. Our expenses monthly are around 2k, and we both work part time to make about 1200 a month. We are living on some of my stock money while my girlfriend finishes her degree (in nursing) this year, and then she will support us while I finish my degree (also in nursing) in two years. We plan on hustling for a few years following graduating and then working normal hours while we have a kid. We also plan on getting married when I graduate from school. She has 40k in student loans, but wants to pay this off ASAP once she graduates.

So, r/ personal finance---what do we do? Any/all advise about my portfolio, saving for retirement, budgeting, is much appreciated---but I mostly want to focus on my stocks. Thanks!

EDIT: Just to be VERY clear, I never considered putting any real money into crypto---more just thought about putting a few dollars in here and there for fun. I'd love more ideas about investment, though. I am over 18 and the account is/has always been in my name. I'm not sure what my capitol gains have been---I will ask.
