My gym t-shirts are getting a little worse for wear so I was fortunate to find a six-pack of Hanes "Ecosmart" grey colored t-shirts for a great deal. Of course, that will mean I will be wearing exactly the same t-shirt six days a week when I go to the gym, but I don't mind.
I expect that these t-shirts will last at least one year, or 52 wears per shirt. That's roughly $0.05 per wear per shirt. (Knowing that clothing will fall apart, I like to think I'm basically "renting" my clothes and try and figure of out the cost per wear for basics.)
In fact, I have duplicates, triplicates, even quadruplicates of the same items of clothes. I have no problem wearing the same looking things all the time and will "stock up" when I find a deal or sale on clothing essentials that fit (socks, underwear, t-shirts, track pants, etc.). Because, for better or worse, clothing will eventually fall apart.
Anyone else do the same?
