For anyone wondering why Fannie Mae preferred shares are taking off today (up>30% for many at time of this post), Bloomberg published an article after the bell yesterday saying Senators Warner and Corker are working on a bill to overhaul the mortgage financing system that would "make the preferred shares whole or close to it."
