Here's the deal. I earn $43k with an employer that covers 100% of my health costs other than the $1250 deductible.
The problem is that they only cover half of my (unemployed) spouse and none of my two kids (age 3 and 1). Insurance is going up again 20% this year to annual premium for those 3 to $11,000 out of my pocket. Unfortunately since I'm given paid insurance, I cannot qualify my spouse or kids for any subsidies.
At this point 26% of my gross income is set to go to insurance premium.
Gross Income: $43000
Health Insurance Prem: $11051
Food: $4800
Necessities: $4000
Shopping: $4000
Taxes: ~$3000
401(k): $2400
Utilities: $2000
Car (Gas, maintentance, etc..) $1800
Entertainment: $600
Tithing/Giving: $240
Renters Insurance: $120
Luckily I'm living rent-free at this time and my car insurance is also paid via in-laws. They've been very helpful. Health insurance is killing me though. I am not sure what to do.
