I'm considering building myself a small ~800 sq ft home as an alternative to the overpriced apartments in my area. My parents own 2.5 acres just a couple miles from my office and I asked if I could buy a small portion of it to build on. Power/water/sewage are already on the property so my expenses shouldn't be too much. I've been looking at prefabs/modular and even mobile home options (which I would like to avoid due to quality concerns) but then I stumbled across this.
They claim a build cost of 65k which would be very affordable for me. Is this type of build realistic for that price? What kind of problems could I run into along the way? I noticed it doesn't have a laundry room so I will need to modify the design slightly, but other than that it seems perfect for me.
