I'm building a house in rural Texas which has no zoning or code rules and my wife's family informed me they can build me a simple 1500 sqft house for under 20k. They're not charging me for labor (I've helped them out a lot in the past) and says the materials will cost 10k and they can handle the rest. They've redone electrical wiring for houses, redone plumbing, redone septic tanks, added rooms to existing homes, build trusts and rooms, etc etc.The only thing they haven't done is build a house from scratch. I believe they mean good intentions but deep down I'm afraid they're not accounting for expenses they don't know about when building a house from scratch.So my question is, without labor fees, is it possible to build the most simple 1500 sqft house with only 10-20k of materials? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2AMTSVJ
