http://ift.tt/2ksaZX6 seems like my MagSafe 2 adapter (85W version for a MacBook Pro Retina Early 2013) blew up. It just stopped charging after tripping a circuit breaker, and when I opened it up this is what I saw.It doesn't seem like any of the visible components have been damaged, but it's still not charging. Some of the solder on the two larger resistors which are most affected by soot has melted, but they still measure OK as far as I can tell. The top larger one has R200 written on it, barely visible, and they both measure 190Ω so my guess is that they are 200Ω 5% resistors? There is some sort of resistor or fuse inside heat shrink tubing (marked orange on my pictures) which connects over to another part of the "primary" side. And I've measured the connections and drawn them blue/red between GND and the SMD components and the Mosfet or whatever it is.I will probably take it apart further if it's not fixable, but if anyone has an idea about what might have gone wrong I'm all ears. Obviously it's dangerous to mess around with 230 VAC so I'm not going to take any chances. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2jUmz9x
