Have an older paid for mobile home and hubby has some land he inherited from his late mother less than 10 miles from where we sit. The land is 6 miles from town out in the country. Since his mother previously had a mobile home on the land in the past, there is already septic there, and a way to get well water with some mechanical work. Am aiming to get current mobile home moved out of this mobile home park and set on hubby's land, will have electric access until we can eventually afford to go solar. Future goals are to get off grid and keep living expenses very low via no land or home payments and no utilities except propane fill-up when needed.
My question is, having never lived in a mobile home until now and no experience having one moved, what are ways to cut costs from a moving company to move this home? Things to ask, look for, or things we can do ourselves to save some dough? For reference, this is a single wide 14x80, and a decent sized wood porch.
Any tips or advice welcome. Thanks!!
