I've had a rocky few years in all ways and starting to gather myself financially for once. I bought YNAB to try and motivate myself to budget, but found it confusing at best. I'm not stupid but 3 attempts at using this thing and it still doesn't seem any easier.
For a few reasons my income is very variable and I can be jobless for months only to then earn £1000 -1,500 / week for a few months.
Has anyone else found using YNAB with a variable income difficult? I finally just sat down today and half did a budget in excel and trello. It may be an odd mix but I have a good enough idea of where I'm headed financially now.
tl;dr YNAB is too hard. Any other options or should I just stick to the basics like excel?
