I have an outdoor firepit I built that is currently wood-log burning and I'm curious if anyone has any experience or info on the best (and affordable) way to convert this to a propane firepit myself. The current setup is a round stacked stone firepit sitting on a concrete patio. The top is a metal bowl insert (where the logs sit). My ideal scenario is where I can just get a propane conversion kit, drop it on the top of this bowl, fill the bowl with rocks/glass-stones/etc. And then the gas line feeds through the bottom of this metal bowl to a propane tank that sits beneath it.What I don't know is if this is feasible (commone even maybe?), and safe. Can I have the propane take sitting directly beneath the fire-bowl and inside the stone work? Or would I have to run a line to another location outside the firepit?Any other tips on how to make this work? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2AkG1Gq
