Live where the winters are very cold. Leaving for five months to a warm climate! Can save ~$1,100 by turning off gas and electric. What do I need to do to be sure nothing is damaged? Thoughts: Drain plumbing (of course) Remove all liquids (big job) including bathroom supplies, canned goods, refrigerator items, liquid garage items, cans of paint? Tricky: somehow drain/get antifreeze in drains of the washing machine, dishwasher, icemaker/water line, furnace humidifier, bidet, water meter. What am I missing? Any tips? One big mistake and the repairs will cost more than the $1,xxx I'm saving.
