We'd like to see a financial planner but don't even know where to start looking or how to find someone who's not scammy.
We both work, have savings, student loan debt, no CC debt, good credit. We'd like to buy a house in the next 5 years. Maaaaybe children one day but we're not thinking about that yet.
I contribute to my retirement something through my work but don't understand it well. her work doesn't offer it so if her new job this fall doesn't offer it, she's going to start her own.
Neither of us invest because we've been building up savings and we both need liquid assets right now due to the upcoming move and wedding.
Our big financial goals are to own land, house, and retirement.
Our big question is how marriage will affect our taxes and student loans.
What else do we need to talk about before officially getting hitched?
