I am currently working on my bachelors degree. I’ve accumulated roughly 35k in student loans and will probably be around 55k when I’m all said and done. I plan to graduate in about 2.5 years so I have some time before I need to payback.

I’m worried about adding a (possible) $600 monthly payment to my list of bills. I currently am married, own a house, and have one child. We are comfortable at the moment but an extra bill like that will hurt for sure.

Any suggestions on what I should do until I graduate to help minimize that payment? I understand trying to lower or eliminate some of my existing bills, which I will try to do, But should I start a separate savings account for student loans? (Which would impact what I am putting into my regular savings account).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you.
