Over the past year, my husband and I have gotten rid of at least half of our things and are still I. The process of simplifying and getting rid of things that we don’t need. We’re currently in a one bedroom apartment and the lease ends December 1. My sister-in-law moved in about 2 months ago and had been living in our living room. When the lease ends, we are moving into a 3 bedroom house just so we can have some privacy. My husband and I have been taking advantage of packing to toss a few more things that we notice we don’t need. We were in the kitchen talking about how we had too many coffee mugs (about 10) and wanted to choose a couple to get rid of. She chimed I’m complaining that we don’t have enough mugs. After we got rid of some and packed them up, she went out and purchased a new one. We have more than enough mugs already. She’s the only one who usually drinks coffee at home, but she leaves them all dirty in the sink so it just seems like there aren’t enough. This has gone on with several items and it’s starting to bother me. Any advice on how to deal with it? I don’t care about what she does with her things in her own room, but I don’t want our common areas to become cluttered after we’ve worked so hard to minimize.
