Not sure if this is the best sub to ask this (totally open to other recommendations I can post this too) but I’ve been thinking of picking up the Mission Workshop Monty and was wondering what other bags I should consider before pulling the trigger.
Things I would carry in the bag: 13” MacBook Air 10.5” iPad Pro Sony MDR1000X Headphones (in carrying case) 18oz. Hydroflask water bottle MacBook charger iPhone charger Sunglasses (in case) Glasses (in case) Wallet Keys
I really do like the aesthetic of the Monty but my only gripe with it is the lack of padding. I suppose I’ve been spoiled by my North Face Recon and the padding it provides for the laptop compartment but I’m a little nervous about now using a bag that lacks padding, both for any delicate devices and for the back of the bag (for anyone that owns the bag, does the bag rest comfortably on your back despite the lack of padding?). Ideally speaking, I would like to avoid laptop/tablet sleeves but I should mention that my MacBook is in a plastic snap-on case while my iPad is in a black TPU case. With that, any comments on whether you think my devices should be adequately protected or not in a padding-less bag given their cases would be greatly appreciated!
