The world is overrun with mechanical keyboard info, and while I would love one, my need is for a quality, quiet keyboard. I'm typing at night with sleeping children nearby, and right now I'm mostly happy on a old Logitech k360 keyboard, but it should be replaced soon and I want to go quieter. The only experience I have with a silent keyboard was a rubber roll-up keyboard. I wouldn't mind something similar, but the typing experience/feedback on those things is not ideal...

...So I just wanted to post this out into the ether here and see what echos back. Have you had a good experience with a quiet keyboard? Do you know a specific kind of switch that is very quiet?

I'm not sure what the k360 has for switches, or what it's doing mechanically, but it's not very loud. The action (travel distance) is lower, I think, which helps.

One last note: I've watched a lot of mechanical "silent" switch comparisons and tests on youtube - I really would enjoy this experience, but even silent switches with O-Rings appear to make a good bit of noise. So I'm assuming they are not an option. Please correct me if your experience is different.

Budget: Ideally < $100, but I'll take any ideas. Usage: Software Development. I write code often, so the typing experience should be awesome, if at all possible. I want to enjoy my keyboard.
