We currently have an old coil top that is falling apart and kind of feel like we are due for an upgrade. It seems to be a huge pain to get gas hooked up in our home so we are left with a difficult decision. Our budget is at about $3,000 MAX (Canadian dollars), but would ideally strongly prefer something cheaper. Originally, I wanted this range: http://ift.tt/2izEOB7

It is at the very top of our budget, but features-wise it is everything we want and on the surface seems like a strong bang for your buck. It helps that the professional review websites rate it very highly too! When I did more research however, I have read about multiple issues such as losing heat in the oven after the original preheat (two separate reviews have commented that it loses 50-100 degrees!), and several repairs needed within the first couple of years. I then looked at other induction ranges and there was a lot more of the same.. Is this a trend with these? Do they break down a lot and often lose heat at random? Everything I read on reddit seems to be positive about induction tops, but I have seen reviews on three separate ranges that all report that same oven issue.. And many have electronic issues that need repairs (and costly repairs at that).

Can anyone comment on this? And are there other options out there? I am in a bit of a roadblock at the moment, struggling to figure out the best option for us.
