This is a question for developers/programmers, but seemed too specific for /programming.
I am looking for a good and free Stock Index API to get data for various stock indices and manipulate and plot it with pandas, matplotlib or other libraries.
I used Quandl a while ago but it has an awkward search feature and I am not looking any of the indices I'm trying to find. Google finance and Yahoo finance looked promising but both Google and Yahoo seemed to have discontinued support, so they've been abandoned.
