So apparently everyone really liked http://ift.tt/2zeWGHP . So this is part 2 - disposable items that you will need ASAP. A lot of these are more variable by person with the previous list. The goal here is if you're on a tight budget, to keep from having to run out at 2am with "I just can't do anything without this one thing!" A lot of this you may already have as well; I'm adding personal toiletries to the list mostly because a lot of people don't move those, and some of them might be shared. (Other ones would be gross shared, however...)
Really essential: - toilet paper (get this first!)
-
any sponges you use
-
paper towels
-
bandaids
-
neosporin
-
benadryl
-
advil/tylenol/aspirin/other
Basic cooking supplies:
-
Spices
-
Oil/grease of choice
-
Butter
-
Salt
-
Sugar
-
Flour
-
Baking soda
-
Baking powder
-
Vinegar of choice
-
Condiments of preference
-
RECOMMENDED: some form of quick meal food (e.g. peanut butter) for when you're tired and haven't unpacked everything
Cleaning supplies, this gets a little tricky, because many things have multiple uses. So I'm just going to list what you need for various things.
-
Dish soap
-
Hand soap
-
Some sort of hard surface cleaner for the bathroom, especially the toilet
-
Cleaner for any hard floors that need mopping
-
Laundry soap
Toiletries:
-
Toothbrush
-
Toothpaste
-
Floss
-
Body soap/body wash
-
Deodorant
-
Shaving supplies
-
(people with periods only) menstrual supplies
Anything else? I'm mostly omitting foodstuffs, other than basic stuff that's expected to last a long time.
