Hello! We are currently in the process of finishing our basement with a bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room/walk-in closet. The wall separating the bedroom and laundry room is parallel to the I-beam, about 2 feet back. Because of the location of the I-beam, we are simply dropping the ceiling down and having it go straight from the bottom of the beam to the wall. Unfortunately, this little 24"x60" alcove is where we will put our dresser, and it's a bit dim there because the lower ceiling cuts off some light from the cans in the main part of the bedroom. My question is how would you suggest going about lighting this little alcove? Essentially it's a 2-foot deep by 5-foot long section with a 7-foot ceiling. I've thought about putting a single 4" or 6" can light in there, but can't decide if that would be overkill or look weird. Thanks for any advice! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2yMq38k
