So I have a friend who struggles a lot financially, she has no income as she is at university and it takes up a lot of her time. The only money she gets is around £300 every month as a bursary from the university and still relies on her parents giving her money to pay for most of her things.

So anyway, this friend is my only friend who enjoys the same things I do (i.e. same hobbies and music taste) therefore over the years I have often paid for tickets to events for both me and her just so we can attend them.

We both make it absolutely clear the money needs to be paid back yet it’s often a case of “I’ll pay you back on Friday” and then Friday comes and goes and I don’t get any money.

Now she owes me ~200. The tip of the iceberg in al of this is whilst I’m lending her money and not really doing much with my life apart from working for this money, she is off booking trips away to wonderful cities with money that i believe should be paid back to me.

I just have the whole idea that if you owe someone money that any time you come into any money a large proportion should be paid back instead of going towards holidays and other non-necessities.

Does anyone else agree? Or have any advice on how I can go about talking about this with my friend?

Thanks
