I live in the northeast United States. We recently purchased a home and I'm still working on sealing it for the upcoming winter.

My question is about the laminate floor and baseboards. There is a small gap around part of the floor where the laminate flooring meets the baseboard. As it's getting a little colder out, I can clearly feel cold air seeping through the gap. Should I put a small bead of caulking here? I understand that laminate flooring expands and contracts, however, I have read that using a silicone caulk would be OK as it will allow the expansion and contraction.
