Hey all!Just bought a 100 year old house. In the middle of remodelling it, installing insulation, and swapping plaster for drywall etc etc.Inspector confirmed every switch, outlet and other electrical has had its K&T wiring replaced with modern romex. I just dropped a ceiling fan to put in a new one and it’s KT wiring.I’ve never worked it before, have access to a friend who’s an electrician. He says remove it since it’s potentially a fire hazard. It’s on the first floor, in a room directly above the breaker panel. My thought is to run an entire new line and dedicate the breaker. It also seems to be tied into the panel with electrical outlets. When I kill the fan, two of the outlets don’t work either. My first thought is get an electrician in and figure out wtf is going on. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2iw6giW
