How do you keep your old technology operational for as long as possible? (Software, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Tools, HVAC systems, vehicles, etc.)
Recently I ran into a jam because I stupidly allowed my Firefox browser to automatically update. The latest version broke several old (legacy) extentions that I need for various purposes and at least one cannot be easily replaced by similar add-ons.
Fortunately, I happened upon the idea of using Firefox clones. Waterfox worked great for my Mac; Pale Moon worked well enough for my Windows 10 machine. I was able to use the old Firefox repositories, too.
This frustration makes me curious how others have handled forced technological change or legacy systems that no longer are easy to repair.
