I broke my feet in the wreck, and went to two urgent care facilities and a doctor's office. I also had to pay for two walking boots. I have submitted everything to Geico, who told me they were still waiting on paperwork from others injured in the wreck, but that they would take care of everything. Myself and Geico have let the doctors' offices know multiple times that Geico will be paying all my bills, and have followed every specific instruction as to what I needed to do to make sure Geico has all the documents. However, I just found out that despite doing everything I was told to and being told that Geico would pay, that one of my balances had been turned over to a collection agency. I am in law school, and do not have the money to pay this, and the time and weekly phone calls telling me to pay are getting on my last nerve and I'm ready to be done with this six month ordeal. I have never owned a credit card, so I don't know if this will hurt my credit score or what the implications of that are. I just want this to be over with, as this wreck is not my fault, and I've spent hours and hours doing everything I was told to get the documents to Geico and yet I'm the one suffering and having my bills handed to a collection agency. Any help would be very much appreciated.

TLDR: Turned in all my bills to Geico and was told they would be paid by Geico once some other people in the wreck finished turning in their paperwork, alerted the doctor's offices what was happening and Geico alerted the doctor's offices as well, but just found out my outstanding bills were turned over to a collection agency and I can't afford to pay them. Help please.
