I've had an Amex Skymiles credit card for a few years now. Originally I got it with the idea that my wife and I would be doing some traveling 2 or 3 times per year for vacations etc, but we've got a 3 year old and suffice it to say, not much traveling going on.
- Will canceling the credit card negatively impact my credit score? I pay $90/year for it. So I'd like to nix that annual expense.
- Will Amex let me unsubscribe from the Skymiles program and just turn the card into a no-fee Amex?
- I have about $4k on the card and will need about 4-5 months to pay it off. APR is over 17%.. best to transfer the balance to a new 0% APR card?
