So very long story short, I was approached by a website wanting me to build something for them (out of wood) and document the process. They will then take the pictures I provide, as well as video that they will take of it and feature it on their website. I am still waiting for the official contract to be written up, but the talk is that I will be paid $5,500 once complete. Since I will not be employed by the company that owns the website, I will just be on contract for the work. How should I proceed with this in regards to taxes?
Is there anything specific I should look out for?
