My wife and I are moving into out first home in a few weeks and I promised her I would build her a farmhouse style dining room table when we eventually bought a house and I guess that day has finally come. I have done some research and read a lot of guides and I have come up with a design for this table but have a few questions on how to complete the build.First is the table top. I am going to connect four 2"x12"x8' boards together using a Kreg Jig to make the pocket holes. I feel pretty good about this process after reading a few guides, specifically this one.As for the legs I want to use metal legs as we really like the design of wood on metal. I am going to order these custom legs from Amazon. How do I attach these legs to the table top, this is really where I need some guidance? I am thinking I need to add a 1"x4" board to bottom of the table top on each side and secure the metal legs to those boards. Would this be the correct? What type of screws should I use to secure the legs to the wood top? Also, do I need to add some kind of cross beam to secure the legs? I am concerned that the table will not be sturdy just by attaching the two legs to the table top with screws. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2hiztkd
