I'm putting up "Designer's Image thin stack stone veneer" on an indoor cement board wall, floor to ceiling. I'm having a hell of a time with the mortar. The "Pakmix pro-line stone veneer mortar" is always mixing too dry or too wet for me. When I do hit what seems like the magic point it still doesn't stick to the wall that well when trowling, certainly not the 1/2 thickness suggested. Then it wants another layer on the veneer. This is taking forever. Is there a secret trick?Better yet can anyone suggest a quicker alternative to mortar? These panels are like Tetris pieces and the heaviest weigh 8lbs.I put up a trial piece using "Loctite express Power Grab Heavy Duty exterior construction adhesive" as a test last night and it feels like it is on there very strong today. I'm just a little worries about how well it will last long term. It says it works on bricks and masonry but doesn't mention anything about weight.Any suggestions? I'm hoping others have been down this painful mortar road. The YouTube videos all made it look so easy.http://ift.tt/2zol3XP via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2mT2BRh
