I've just bought a new bed (moved from queen to King) and was looking for a quality comforter. Currently I have an Ikea cooler comforter and duvet covers. My wife was looking at the Target comforters that don't require a duvet because she likes the look more than the regular Ikea duvets.
We like the warmth of the Ikea - it's just right for southern California and it's really well made for the price. In three years there's been no issues at all. The cons are the duvets look very regulation Ikea and most prime don't recommend buying duvets from elsewhere because the sizes aren't exact. Also the comforter slips around in the duvet sometimes.
My questions are: * has anyone tried out the quilts or comforters from Target and how are they? * is it a good idea to get a comforter that didn't have a duvet? * are there any better alternatives for comforters? * can we use other duvets for Ikea comforters?
We'd prefer non down because my wife tends to feel allergic.
