GE at the time of this posting is trading at 18.15 USD per share, barely above its lowest traded price in years. Immelt was criticized for running the company into the ground. After Flannery took over, he announced he was going to trim the fat from the company and end a lot of decadent executive practices.
Since the price is so low, the dividend on this stock is pretty disproportionately high.
Is it worth snapping up GE stock now and reinvesting earnings? I can't see the company really bottoming out, since it's an industry staple: all I see is room for more improvement.
