Hi guys,
So, like some here, I didn’t make the wisest of decisions with money. About 2 years ago I maxed out my credit card ($16,000) and took out a personal loan ($16,000). That brought me a total consumer debt of $32,000, which doesn’t include my $36,000 student debt. Last month I finished paying off my consumer debt ($32,000), and although I feel relief, I also feel extremely tired, lonely and depressed. During the time I aggressively paid off this debt (2 years is fast, right?), I obtained a second job, picked up extra shifts and cut out a lot of trips that my friends took. Of course, a lot of this was necessary to do, but I feel like I lost a lot in the process, too. Life is precious, and I don’t want to miss too much of it anymore. Because of this, do you guys think it’s ok to relax for a little with the student debt and pick it up later? And, if you faced similar emotions, how did you cope and recover?
Other stats: Job: Registered Nurse in CA (I have both a full-time and part-time job in LA) Income leftover after bills/rent: $4100 Current student debt: $36,000
Thanks
