I have purchased a motel stay (10 days) two weeks in advance. I paid in full cash and got a very steep discount, but the motel was near where I live (it was for someone visiting). I live in Portland and will be driving to Seattle at the beginning of April. I am not familiar with Seattle at all. When I Google rates of hotels/motels, they are very expensive. I want to be close to the Washington State Convention Center. I've never been there before.
How can I go about getting the cheapest deal possible? I don't want to make a 6 hour total road trip to Seattle to pay someone in cash for a cheaper price. I just need somewhere to sleep that has clean water and Wi-fi. I will also be bringing my boyfriend, so that makes 2 people. I read various forums on Reddit but nothing pertaining to booking 5 months in advance. Any help would be appreciated. I've never used AirBRB either (never heard of it actually).
