I've been dealing with this kind of thing my whole life, so I'm not looking for anything besides what he should do to help himself financially at this point. I don't have details, but he did call the police and they showed up because he was ready to fight the bartenders. They told him to call the card company and dispute it. I'm not sure how much he actually spent, but I'm thinking in the 100 dollars range. He says they opened a tab? His whole check of about 800 dollars was gone on 3 charges from the bar in 250, 250, and 255. I know he's a stupid old drunk, but he pays his bills and, while he spends whatever he has left on alcohol, he keeps his bills in order because he knows that homelessness is too close for comfort if he slips up. Is there any additional steps he should be taking right now to ensure he can get at least some of his money back? What else can he do at this point? I'm just tired of this and really can't feel sorry for him, but if he needs a home I know he will try to move in with me and my brother, and we can't stand his lounging and drinking while we're just trying to be productive members of society. I'll try anything before I live with him again. Including fighting for his money back. Help?
