I'm visiting my family for two weeks over Christmas, Chattanooga area to NE Ohio. We've recently taken in a friend who is struggling with life in general at the moment, which brings our total count to 5, two of which are in car seats. This rules out my Kia Soul as a form of transport for the 600 mile trip. I'd like to rent a larger car for a one way weekend trip up there, then in two weeks when we leave rent another large car to go back.
This seems to end up much more expensive than I'd have expected. Does anyone have any experience in these kinds of one way trips that might be able to help me figure out a more frugal option? Thank you!
